About Us
Dr Russell Whittaker, originally from the Eastern Cape, headed straight to Cape Town after his qualification in Durban. After 3 years of associateship, he started Belmont Chiropractic with the desire to create a family-based chiropractic care centre focused around addressing the underlying causes of both acute “flare ups” and chronic issues.
Belmont Chiropractic aims to deliver a unique doctor-patient interaction that not only provides targeted healing but is also comforting and supportive to offer a well-rounded, healing experience.
Dr. Whittaker prides himself in taking particular care to investigate every avenue of a condition to ensure his patients receive the best care available to them. This concern stems from his upbringing in a very close-knit family with strong family values and an emphasis on taking care of one another.

Dr Russell Whittaker
His love of sport introduced him to chiropractic care at a young age and was the driving force behind his passion for the profession. An avid golfer, and trail runner he has obtained a great understanding of the biomechanics of the body.
During his studies, Dr Whittaker dedicated years of work towards academy rugby sides in Durban, granting him a unique understanding of trauma-related injury. He carried out a large clinical trial involving severe headaches which highlighted the importance of postural change related conditions and application of the optimal techniques that ensure the best treatment outcome.
His years of working for academy rugby sides in Durban along with completing one of the largest ever clinical trials on headaches in South Africa gave him a unique understanding regarding trauma related injury along with postural change related conditions.
He is a meticulous individual, always taking the time to listen to the concerns of his patients and carefully performing the necessary treatments. His family values play an important role in his patient interactions and he enjoys meeting and treating all members of the family.
