Treatments
We use a variety of chiropractic treatments and techniques in order to address the various injuries and conditions with which a patient is struggling. Below is a list of treatments that we offer and a brief description of how each treatment is applied.
Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is a technique used in chiropractic care to address various conditions by applying targeted pressure to the affected area. This method aims to release muscle tension, improve mobility, and enhance overall function. It involves relaxing tight muscles, improving blood flow, and activating the stretch reflex in the muscles surrounding the injury.

Myofascial release can be beneficial for the following conditions:
- ITB issues
- Ligament disruptions
- Patella tracking
- Runners knee
- Foot drop
- Arch collapse
- Heel spurs
- Plantar fasciitis
- Frozen Shoulder
- Torticollis (Acute)
- Rotator Cuff Syndrome
- Tennis Elbow
- Golfers Elbow
- Migraines
- Tension Headaches
- Cervicogenic Headaches
- Scoliosis
- SI Syndrome
- Facet Syndrome
Pain Control Modalities
In chiropractic treatments, pain control modalities are utilised to alleviate pain caused by injuries or underlying conditions. These modalities help manage pain and promote healing.

Some common pain control modalities used by chiropractors include:
- Ice packs: Applying ice to the affected area to reduce inflammation and relieve pain.
- Compression bandages: Using compression wraps or bandages to reduce swelling and support the injured area.
- Anti-inflammatory medications: Prescribing or recommending medication to reduce inflammation and alleviate pain.
- IFC (Interferential Current): Most common form of electrical muscle stimulation used to treat acute and chronic pain conditions
- TENS (Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation): This therapy uses low voltage electrical current to provide pain relief.
- Dry Needling: A procedure used to treat pain and movement restriction associated with myofascial trigger points.
- Ultrasound: Non-invasive treatment in which sound waves are used to promote healing and increase circulation.
- Percussion Devices: These help to relax and soothe sore muscles associated with chronic tension, DOMS or overuse injuries
Pain control modalities are effective in addressing a variety of conditions, including:
- Ankle sprains
- ITB issues
- Ligament disruptions
- Patella tracking
- Runners knee
- Foot drop
- Arch collapse
- Heel spurs
- Plantar fasciitis
- Frozen Shoulder
- Torticollis (Acute)
- Rotator Cuff Syndrome
- Tennis Elbow
- Golfers Elbow
- Migraines
- Tension Headaches
- Cervicogenic Headaches
- Scoliosis
- SI Syndrome
- Facet Syndrome
Joint Mobilisation
Joint mobilisation is a gentle manual therapy technique commonly used in chiropractic treatments to improve joint mobility and restore normal movement patterns. This technique involves hands-on manipulation and mobilisation of the affected joints.

Joint mobilisation can be effective for various conditions, including:
- Arch collapse
- Heel spurs
- Plantar fasciitis
- Frozen Shoulder
- Torticollis (Acute)
- Rotator Cuff Syndrome
- Tennis Elbow
- Golfers Elbow
- Migraines
- Tension Headaches
- Cervicogenic Headaches
- Scoliosis
- SI Syndrome
- Facet Syndrome
Stabilisation or Manipulation
Stabilisation or manipulation techniques are employed by chiropractors to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance overall function. These techniques involve stabilising or manipulating the affected area to restore proper alignment and promote healing.

Stabilisation or manipulation can include:
- Orthotics and braces: Using specialised devices to provide support and stability to the affected area.
- Chiropractic adjustments: Applying controlled force to joints to restore proper alignment and function.
- Supportive strapping and taping: Using strapping or taping techniques to support and stabilise the injured area.
Stabilisation or manipulation techniques are commonly used to address the following conditions:
- Ankle sprains
- Ligament disruptions
- Patella tracking
- Runners knee
- Foot drop
- Arch collapse
- Heel spurs
- Plantar fasciitis
- Frozen Shoulder
- Torticollis (Acute)
- Rotator Cuff Syndrome
- Tennis Elbow
- Golfers Elbow
- Migraines
- Tension Headaches
- Cervicogenic Headaches
- Scoliosis
- SI Syndrome
- Facet Syndrome
Corrective Actions
Corrective actions involve specific exercises and therapies designed to stretch, strengthen, and provide support to the muscles, ligaments, and tendons of the affected area. These actions, in combination with other chiropractic treatments, aim to improve stability, restore proper function, and prevent future injuries.

Corrective actions may include:
- Targeted exercises: Performing exercises that focus on strengthening and stretching the affected area.
- Nerve stimulation: Applying electrical stimulation to nerves to promote muscle activation and enhance healing.
- Adjustments to the position: Making adjustments to the position of the affected area to optimise alignment and function.
Corrective actions can effectively address a range of conditions, including:
- Ankle sprains
- ITB issues
- Ligament disruptions
- Patella tracking
- Runners knee
- Upper and Lower Cross Syndromes
- Frozen Shoulder
- Torticollis (Acute)
- Rotator Cuff Syndrome
- Tennis Elbow
- Golfers Elbow
- Migraines
- Tension Headaches
- Cervicogenic Headaches
- Scoliosis
- SI Syndrome
- Facet Syndrome
Deep oscillation treatment makes use of electrostatic attraction and friction to promote mobility. This rehabilitative therapy works to relieve pain from overuse, trauma and injuries by relocating and flushing pain-transmitting and mediating substances.

Deep oscillation is commonly used to address the following conditions:
- Pre- and post-operative pain
- Whiplash injury
- Mechanical Trauma
- Damage from overuse
- Lymphoedema
